Funding Value: Successful applicants will receive a stipend up to CDN $20,000. The award will be issued to the applicant's academic institution. This studentship may be held in combination with other awards, provided the total combined funding does not exceed the maximum allowed by the institution, the provincial co-funder, and the conditions of any currently active awards held by the applicant. Please note that this award cannot be combined with an existing CIHR studentship. Any CIHR studentship—including those offered through affiliated organizations or initiatives (e.g., the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research [SPOR])—will be considered an active CIHR award if it is in effect at the proposed start date of the CAN-TAP-TALENT award. Provincial co-funder rules regarding co-funding or concurrent funding will also apply.

Eligibility

Full-time Doctoral students who are conducting research related to various types of clinical research, also including the analysis of clinical research samples and/or data, and which are aligned with the vision and mission of CAN-TAP-TALENT.

  • Only one application per individual will be accepted

  • Candidates are only permitted to apply to one CTTP out of the 4 namely, CANTRAIN, CAN-TAP-TALENT, StrokeCog or CBITN per year (response to an annual call for application will be considered for that year as the dates for the call may vary from year-to-year) while a Supervisor can submit as many candidates as desired to increase the probability of funding to his clinical trials operations.

  • If candidates are unsure of their successful acceptance to the university program at the time of their application, they are asked to provide proof of acceptance once it is received. The award will be contingent on their successful acceptance to the program in the application.
